Booking policies.

A 25% deposit reserves any portrait session (family, couples, maternity, newborn, lifestyle). It's applied to your total, and your date isn't held until it's paid.

Once I receive your deposit I personally confirm your exact time and location within 24 hours. If I can't accommodate your preferred or backup date, you can choose another, or your deposit is refunded in full. That's the one situation the deposit is refundable.

When you book, I block your date and turn away other inquiries for it. The deposit protects that time. If you cancel, the deposit is retained; anything you've paid beyond the deposit is refunded.

Life happens, and I try to be generous about it. You may reschedule once, at no charge, with at least 72 hours' notice, subject to my availability. Your deposit moves with you to the new date.

Requests inside 72 hours, a second reschedule, or a missed session without notice may require a new deposit to rebook.

Newborn sessions are the exception: babies don't read calendars. We hold a flexible window around your due date and set the real day once baby arrives. No reschedule fee applies to arrival-related changes.

If weather makes an outdoor session unsafe or unflattering (rain, high wind, or heavy smoke), or if anyone in your party is sick, we'll reschedule at no charge. There's no 72-hour rule, and it doesn't count as your one reschedule. The new date is chosen from my open availability, usually the next opening that works for both of us. I'd rather wait a week than deliver photos you won't love.

Your balance is due 3 days before your session. About a week before, I'll email you an invoice from Square for the remaining balance. Open the link in that email to pay by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. There's no account or login to set up, and Square emails your receipt. If the balance isn't paid by session day, I'll reach out, but the session may be rescheduled until it is.

Your session starts at the scheduled time. If you arrive late, we'll make the most of the time left, but I may not be able to extend. Golden hour doesn't wait, and I often have another family after you. Please build in a buffer for parking and wrangling little ones.

Locations within 30 miles of Sacramento are included. Locations 31–60 miles away have a flat $100 travel fee, added at booking. Anything 61 miles or more, overnight, or out of state is quoted individually before you pay a deposit. No surprises.

Portrait sessions: you'll receive a sneak peek within 24 hours and your full online gallery within 7 days. Galleries stay online for 90 days, so please download and back up your images during that time. After that, re-uploads are available for a small archive fee.

Elopements and weddings are different: a sneak peek within 48 hours and your full gallery within 14 days. Wedding galleries stay online for 6 months, then move to archive and can be restored for a small archive fee.

The number of images listed for each session is a minimum. I deliver every image I'm proud of, which is usually more.

Elopements and weddings are booked by inquiry with a personalized agreement and retainer. The terms of that agreement govern your wedding booking and take precedence over this page where they differ.
